(SSA) Select Semi-Automatic Training Class (SB25-003)
Choose between the 4-hour or 12-hour required training course. These courses run concurrent to each other and are the CPW (Colorado Parks and Wildlife) approved training courses for customers who have their eligibility card from a Colorado Sheriff’s department.
The 4-hour Basic Firearms Safety Course under Colorado Senate Bill 25-003 (for individuals who already hold a certified Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) Hunter Education certificate) covers safe handling of semiautomatic firearms and magazines, child safety, safe storage, firearm deaths related to mental illness, extreme risk protection orders, and victim awareness and empathy. This 4-hour course will be completed on the first day of training.
Under Colorado Senate Bill 25-003 (SB25-003), the 12-hour Extended Specified Semiautomatic Firearm (SSF) course is required for purchasers who do not have a certified Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) Hunter Education certificate on file. The lesson will include all of what is required in the 4-hour course plus additional, more in-depth topics on firearms safety. This course is split into two consecutive 6-hour days of classroom instruction.
