Training Events during Covid-19

There have been a number of inquiries related to course scheduling and potential cancellations due to recent news surrounding the Coronavirus and concerns relating to travel. As a cadre, we have taken the following into consideration when making this decision:

  • From the CDC’s website: “The risk for being exposed to the virus is still low for most Americans, but as the outbreak expands, that risk will increase.” At present, the risk of contracting Coronavirus is still low. We'll continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.
  • The overwhelming majority of our students aren’t members of the greatest at-risk populations for COVID-19. The very elderly and individuals with compromised immune systems and other severe illnesses (e.g. cancer, heart disease, diabetes, lung disease) comprise those at high risk of serious complications from COVID-19. Individuals meeting these criteria should reschedule with us for a future class date.
  • Implementation of mitigation strategies is a part of course planning and deliberate risk management, and where possible control measures will be implemented.
  • As small group activities, classes do not meet the threshold for guidance on public gatherings being issued by State health boards. Figures vary, but certain State governments (such as Pennsylvania) are recommending gatherings of 250 or more individuals be cancelled. Our courses typically accommodate no more than 25 students maximum (including cadre), further mitigating the risk of infection.

We understand concerns related to travel and transmission and we encourage students to make their own decisions regarding their health and safety. To that end, if students desire to delay attendance to a later course, we will accommodate as able.

As a cadre, we have made the decision to continue training in part to set an example not to panic, but rather take common sense measures to manage risks while continuing to operate to the best of our ability.

Questions can be directed to our team via email to billy@fieldcraftdefense.com. As always, thanks for your time and attention!

Stay safe, keep training, and we hope to see you at a course in the near future!
